The Position

The Shared Services Senior Communications Specialist will work with AHP partners to refine and implement communications strategies that will enable the consortia to generate and disseminate high quality content demonstrating the impact of our work in Vanuatu. The Communications Specialist will provide strategic technical support to all AHP partners in Vanuatu, and will serve as the primary liaison between the Vanuatu consortia and the Australia-based AHP Support Unit Communications team.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field and/or 5+ years work experience in a similar position

► 5 + years of experience in the production of exceptional content/copy in a broad range of communication styles

► Professional communication skills in English and Bislama, including the ability to write, copy edit, and provide quality assurance for high-quality case studies, press releases, and other communication materials that meet donor standard requirements and are appropriate for an NGO’s stakeholder audience – including donors such as DFAT

► Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to implement communications strategies

► Strong understanding of the Vanuatu media – including social media – and communications industry, has an extensive network of contacts in the industry, and the ability to cultivate relationships with media outlets and communications contractors

► Awareness of development issues in Vanuatu, particularly around the Australian Humanitarian Partnership’s sectoral and geographical areas of response

► Ability to prioritise competing demands on your time while under pressure
