The Position

The Safe Schools Program Manager will lead the implementation and management of Save the Children’s Safe Schools Program in Vanuatu, adhering to the organization’s Safe Schools Common Approach.


Safe Schools in an all-inclusive, all hazards approach to keep children safe in and around schools. The program aims to empower children to stay safe, with a focus on girls and children with disabilities. The main components of Safe Schools in Vanuatu is strengthening national and subnational government policies and systems, improving school safety management and enhancing the knowledge, skills and behaviours of teachers and children for school safety.


The Safe Schools Program Manager will work collaboratively with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Safe Schools Advisor to ensure quality implementation of the program. The Safe Schools Program Manager will report to the Program Director and manage a team of Education Quality Assurance Officers. This is a full-time position.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Relevant University degree required

► Minimum five years’ experience in a relevant position

► Broad working experience in Vanuatu

► Fluency in Bislama and English

► Able to work proficiently with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

► Excellent reporting skills

► Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a wide range of people
