The Organisation

Save the Children is the world's largest independent child rights development organisation, making a difference to the children's lives in more than 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child's right to health, education and protection.


The Position

The Resilience Program Officer will support Save the Children’s work in Vanuatu and is responsible implementation of resilience and climate change adaptation program activities within our Building Resilience and Adaptive Capacities project in Ambae. The Resilience Program Officer will work within a small team to build community, government and other key stakeholders understanding of Save the Children’s programming and will represent Save the Children in all local meetings.


This position is based on Ambae island, Penama Province and will have an initial contract duration of 12 months.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Tertiary qualification desired

► Minimum two (2) years of experience in a relevant position

► Experience in community mobilisation for disaster risk reduction, resilience, or climate change adaptation programs

► Fluency in Bislama as well as intermediate knowledge of English is required

► Able to work proficiently with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

► Good reporting skills

► Previous experience in Community Support Organisations or Non-Government Organisations

► Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a wide range of people

► Committed, honest and eager to learn
