The Organisation

The Northern Island Stevedoring Company Limited (NISCOL) Port Services is a Limited Company owned by the following shareholders: SANMA Province (30%), MALAMPA Province (20%), PENAMA Province (20%), TORBA Province (10%), Luganville Municipal Council (10%) and the Vanuatu Government (10%).


The company operates all stevedoring, wharfage and transportation of international cargoes at Luganville in Santo, Republic of Vanuatu.

The Position

The Quarry Operation Manager position is part of the management leadership team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The position role is to direct and oversee quarry operations. This includes the quarry site and office, manage staffs, safety and risk management, maintenance, sales, coordinate productions and monitor all site systems.


The Quarry Operation Manager is responsible for overseeing the quarry operation, ensure the efficient and safe extraction of quarries, manage all aspects of the quarry from creating and implementing quarry plans and strategies to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Tertiary qualifications in the environmental sciences, engineering, and/or technology.

► Practical experience in quarry operations and management is essential. Minimum 5 years practical and supervisory experience in hard rock quarry including managing drill, load, haul, crushing, screening, and maintenance operations.

► Knowledge of workplace health and safety policies, standards, and practices.

► Project management, planning and organisational skills.

► Technical proficiency in quarry equipment and processes.

► Ability to lead and manage a team.
