The Organisation

Air Vanuatu is the National carrier of the Republic of Vanuatu and plays a pivotal role in supporting national development, particularly tourism. As such, this position has an extreme level of responsibilities in providing necessary leadership in the daily management of the airline.

The Position

The Quality Safety Manager is accountable to the CEO to ensure the quality and safety compliance of the part 145 Organization, the management if corrective action resulting from internal and external Quality and Safety Audits and reports the management of the authorization procedures, including assessment of qualifications, initial and ongoing training, technical competency and issuance of authorizations in accordance with the MOE.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Has an Aircraft Engineer License for 3 years or been a Quality and Safety engineer or Quality and Safety Manager for an aligning industry for 3 years

► Have undergone and passed a formally recognized Training Course in Leading Auditing

► Have had formal training in Safety management systems

► Able to pass a CAAV Fit and Proper Person Assessmet

► Three (3) years exposure and experience in maintenance activities - line and base maintenance preferable

► Good understanding of the CAAV/ICAO rules and requirements for safety management under rule 145.65

► Competent with knowledge of auditing and investigations

► Experience with engineering licensing & company authorization requirements

► Good interpersonal skills
