The Organisation

The role of the Australian High Commission is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality development program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas.


The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia’s pursuit of global, regional and bilateral interests.


The Position

Under general supervision, the Property Officer will assist with the management of property and security services to the High Commission’s property portfolio. The position also plays a key role in the Mission’s Emergency and Contingency planning and response.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Experience in providing property management services

► Valid drivers’ licence

► Fluent English

► Attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills

► Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)


Desirable Selection Criteria

► Demonstrates initiative and professionalism, and a willingness to work across teams flexibly

► Bislama and French language skills

► Able to work effectively in a culturally diverse team

► Proficient computer skills, particularly using MS Office applications
