The Australian High Commission in Port Vila manages the Australian Government’s presence in Vanuatu. We promote Australia’s interests, facilitate international trade and investment, deliver development assistance, respond to crises and provide services to Australian citizens. The Position - Property Manager

Under the limited direction of the Second Secretary and Consul, manage the operations of the High Commission’s property portfolio including the Chancery, HOM Residence and Abased residences. Lead the property team to deliver high quality maintenance services and ensure compliance with all relevant DFAT WHS and security policies.


The Position - Property Officer

Under general supervision, the Property Officer will assist with the management of property and security services to the High Commission’s property portfolio. The position also plays a key role in the Mission’s Emergency and Contingency planning and response.


Essential Selection Criteria - Property Manager

► Extensive experience (minimum five years) in managing a property portfolio, preferably commercial and residential.

► Extensive experience in leading a team to deliver high quality outcomes.

► Preferably qualifications in administrative management or project management.

► Demonstrates initiative and professionalism, and a willingness to work across teams flexibly.

► Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).

► Proficient computer skills, particularly using MS Office applications

► Fluent English and Bislama essential.

► Valid drivers’ licence.


Essential Selection Criteria - Property Officer

► Experience in providing property management services.

► Attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.

► Demonstrates initiative and professionalism, and a willingness to work across teams flexibly.

► Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).

► Able to work effectively in a culturally diverse team

► Proficient computer skills, particularly using MS Office applications.

► Fluent English and Bislama essential.

► Valid drivers’ licence.
