The Organisation

Vanuatu Education Support Program (VESP) is funded by the Australian government. We work closely with the Ministry of Education and Training to improve education in Vanuatu.

The Position

The Ministry's IT Unit is responsible for managing the Education Management Information System, and all other ICT services, like email and website. The IT Officer will work closely with the Ministry's IT Unit to strengthen its client support. The IT Officer will seek solid and creative solutions to ensure the IT Unit can implement its activities successfully. The selected IT Officer will join a high-quality and experienced team of education practitioners.

Essential Selection Criteria

► A tertiary qualification in technology and design related areas. Technology related vocational qualifications can also be accepted in lieu.

► Demonstrated knowledge and experience of:

• Developing and implementing technology training programs

• Website review and administration

• Ability to provide IT support including to low digital literacy users

• Supporting users to use Management Information Systems

► Ability to undertake activities in a participative, consultative manner, ensuring counterparts and stakeholders actively develop understanding and ownership.

► Ability to communicate in English is essential.

► Fluency and ability to communicate in French and or Bislama is desirable.

►Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team

►Ability to maintain a high level of personal organisation combined with ability to effectively plan and monitor activities.

►Ability to problem solve in a sensitive manner to ensure ownership and acceptance.

►Ability to self-manage priorities, deadlines and budgets with minimal supervision.

► Ability to maintain high ethical standards in any capacity in accordance with relevant codes of practice.

►Willingness to undertake travel within Vanuatu as required.
