The Organisation

The Ifira Ports Development Services Limited (IPDS) is one of the three of the main ports in Vanuatu. The IPDS Ltd port is the main port for all international freight and containers cargo arriving in the capital while the Government international wharf is dedicated for all cruise vessels, gas and petrol tankers.

The Position

The HR (Human Resources) Manager will report directly to the Managing Director.

They will be responsible to overseeing various aspects of the employee lifecycle. Their key responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment and Hiring

  • Employee Relations

  • Training and Development

  • Compensation and Benefits

  • Compliance

  • Performance Management

  • Policy Development

  • Strategic Planning

In essence, an HR Manager ensures that the human resources in the organization are effectively managed, supported, and utilized.

Essential Selection Criteria

► 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resources roles

► 3+ years of experience in Labour Relations and Employee Relations

► 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role

► Knowledge of Employment Laws

► Familiarity with HR policies, procedures, and best practices

► Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

► Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

► Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.


Non-Vanuatu citizens must be able to pass requirements to work in Vanuatu (Health checks and Police Clearance)
