The Organisation

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) – Education Specialist is responsible for timely delivery of quality outputs and outcomes under the GPE Accelerated Fund – a new program implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) in partnership with Save the Children that aims to support education recovery in Vanuatu following the dual crises of TC Harold and COVID19.


The Position

The Education Specialist will be accountable to the Principal Education Officer (PEO) at the Curriculum Development Unit (CDU). The Education Specialist will work with staff from the Curriculum Development Unit to support development and delivery of homeschool package aimed at ensuring education continuity in schools and school communities.


Contract length: six months.


Essential Selection Criteria

► Prior experience teaching in a school environment

► A minimum of 3 years’ experience in curriculum development/ teacher professional development program and/or equivalent professional experience

► Experience in education programs at provincial and national level

► The ability to effectively coordinate resources and drive outcomes

► Fluency in Bislama, French and/or English

► Ability to solve problems in a culturally sensitive manner to ensure ownership and acceptance.

► Ability to effectively self-manage project priorities, deadlines and budgets with minimal supervision.

► Ability to maintain a high level of personal organisation and ability to plan and monitor activities.

► Ability to maintain high ethical standards in any capacity in accordance with codes of practice.
