The Organisation
The Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO) is an international organisation providing quality aviation safety and security service for Member States in the Pacific.
PASO is the sole Pacific regional organisation responsible for regulatory aviation safety oversight services for the 10 Pacific States - Cook Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu - who are signatories to the Pacific Islands Civil Aviation Safety and Security Treaty (PICASST).
The Position
Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the Executive Officer is responsible for providing secretarial support to the Council, managing all the meeting logistics and taking minutes of the meetings as well as providing similar report for the Technical and Finance Sub-Committees. The role also is responsible for preparing the organisation’s Annual Business Plan, Annual Report, and Quarterly Reporting. Finally, they will provide corporate support to the PASO Head Office which includes the development and oversight of PASO’s key performance measurement information.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
► Excellent verbal, non-verbal (written) communication skills / a natural presenter in English and Bislama.
► Strategic thinker, able to interpret key issues and present them appropriately.
► Comfortable engaging and working with Senior Managers and liaising with external agencies.
► Strong attention to detail and well-rounded analytic skills.
► A proven record to produce high quality outputs, fit-for purpose reporting to senior managers.
► A high level of motivation, enthusiasm and initiative and a proven ability to manage confidential information.
► An ability to work effectively in a small team environment and contribute and enhance organizational achievements.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Experience providing senior level executive officer or secretarial support including managing high level meetings and reporting.
► Experience in business or organizational performance management (establishing and monitoring organizational KPIs).
► Experience at producing key accountable documents such as Annual Reports or Business Plans for public consumption.
► Keeps abreast of trends and issues across the aviation sector (both in Pacific and overseas), and relevant regional issues areas, knows when and where to go and get knowledge and expertise.
