The Position
In 2021 Save the Children is launching a climate campaign accelerator lab to work with young people in Vanuatu This role will identify and empower young people to develop their campaign ideas and make them a reality with the support of philanthropic donors.
The Campaign Coordinator will play a central role in organising and delivering campaign workshops and mentoring young activists and groups. This role will act as the point person in the Vanuatu Country Office for the climate lab and work closely with the Campaign Manager at Save the Children Australia.
This role will be pivotal to ensuring children and young people in Vanuatu are true agents of change on climate.

Essential Selection Criteria
► Qualifications in community organising, communications, political science or equivalent experience
► Deeply committed to climate justice and the power of social movements and eager to build the leadership capacity and skills of grassroots movements
► Works productively with diverse groups of people and partners and liaising with authorities and great at working remotely to support distributed networks of leaders and groups
► Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to implement communications and advocacy strategies
► Strong understanding of the Vanuatu media – including social media and communications industry and ability to cultivate relationships with media outlets and communications contractors
► Self-motivated and works well under pressure with competing deadlines
► Experience working with young people, under 18 years of age
► Knowledge of local youth and environmental grassroots organisations and actors
► Knowledge of local government and decision-makers
