The Organisation

The Bureau of Price Monitoring and Consumer Affairs repeal Act. No.5 of 2023 has been part of the bills tabled by the current Minister of Finance on the first Parliament sitting of 2023.One of the significant roles of the Bureau is to bring Vanuatu up to date with policies and practices in terms of pricing and monitoring of both local and international market goods for the good welfare of the people of Vanuatu

The Position

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the efficient management of the Bureau and implementation of all decisions of the Bureau. This include an overlook on the Budget and Policies for the Bureau.

Essential Selection Criteria

► MBA with over 10 years of experience in a managerial to a director’s level. Knowledge of the Government system and processes will be an advantage.

► Qualification in accounting, economics, Commerce or Business Management post graduate

► Private sector experience and understands costing structure of a business enterprise

► Be able to manage staff on tight schedules. Must be able to work long hours and outside of Port Vila

► Report writing, analyzing data, prepare board agendas, take minutes of the board, must be able to run workshops for both traders and consumers and be attentive to details. Has good communication skill and dialogue. Must have the interest of the consumers of Vanuatu at heart and be able to strike a balance between both traders and consumers.

► Fast thinker, analytical and be creative.

► Must be strong on both oral and written communication skills

► Be of good character

► English or French and Bislama
