The Organisation
The Pacific Secondary Schools Scholarships Program (PSSSP) provides selected scholarship recipients with the opportunity for a high quality Australian education and practical youth leadership development to prepare them for their own future in higher education, training or employment, and to contribute to the economic and social development of their own countries. Students will be selected through an independent and merit-based selection process and receive a full scholarship, including homestay, in Australia.
The Position
The Country Coordinator will support the in-country scholarships processes and will contribute to developing and implementing country level promotional plans and promote the scholarships and the Australian education system to potential applicants, their families and guardians across the country. The Country Coordinator will also support organisation and logistical arrangements of the selection processes and pre-departure briefings and support the mobilisation of students.
Essential Selection Criteria
► A good understanding of the country’s education system and sound experience managing or implementing programs, particularly development or educational programs.
► Excellent process management skills and the ability to work independently.
► Strong administrative, organisational and logistics management skills.
► Strong interpersonal skills with all ages and strong written and oral communications skills.
► Must be a Vanuatu Citizen with a current Passport (with a validity of 7 months) and be able to travel to Australia 27-31 January 2020.
Desirable Selection Criteria
► An education background or experience in working in the education sector. Specific education experience, such as teaching or working in a Ministry or Department of Education, is desirable.
► Experience working on an education scholarships program is desirable.
