The Organisation
The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is Vanuatu’s National Private Sector organisation. It is VCCI’s intention to become an organisation that makes a unique and significant contribution to the future of the country by representing the private sector in dialogue with Government and others, and by providing effective business development services across the country.
The Position
The purpose of the position is to assist VCCI consult with the private sector, the Vanuatu government and others, about issues that affect the economy and businesses in Vanuatu. The Research and Policy Analyst will be responsible for: • Research and prepare position papers on specific topics • Represent the Vanuatu private sector in national, regional and international forums • Promote national conversations about the economy and business through networking events • Work with the private sector and Government, to develop a Government policy on Private Sector Development
Essential Selection Criteria
► Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant subject(s)
► Demonstrable work experience in development of positions papers, briefing notes, research reports, consultations, analysis and commentary
► Strong writing, presentation and public speaking skills
► Excellent communicator in writing and in person, in English and/or French and Bislama
► Vanuatu citizen
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Knowledge of government policy, laws, economics
► Strategic thinker – able to see the big picture as well as the detail
► Practical, reliable and efficient – delivers high quality work, on time
