Au Bon Marche is Vanuatu’s largest retail and wholesale business, servicing up to 80% of local customers and expatriates within the food and grocery industry. It has the largest product variety and range in the country. It has seven retail shops, two wholesale shops and four service stations.
The Position
Au Bon Marche is advertising two full time positions based in Port Vila: An Asset and Property Maintenance Manager AND a Maintenance Assistant Manager.
The Asset and Property Maintenance Manager is a senior position reporting to the Administrative Manager and is responsible for ensuring the refrigeration, air conditioning, and buildings are efficiently maintained to a high standard. The role involves working across all facilities to lead and assist a maintenance team of approximately 10 people.
The Maintenance Assistant Manager will utilise their professional experience to assist the Asset and Property Maintenance Manager to maintain these areas and further train and develop the local maintenance team.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Mature professional with demonstrated experience in a similar role maintaining commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems
► Well experienced in building and asset maintenance
► Have obtained a relevant qualification/certification in refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical or similar (for Manager position)
► Ability to deliver detailed monthly maintenance/asset reports to senior management
► Hold a valid driver’s license
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Experience in managing and training staff (for Manager position)
► Experience communicating cross-culturally, preferably in the South Pacific region
► Demonstrated understanding of using office automation tools (Microsoft Office)
► Able to work on nights and weekends for maintenance purposes or emergency situations
