The Organisation
Airports Vanuatu Limited (AVL) is a national organisation that manages the 3 main airports within the Republic of Vanuatu including Bauerfield Airport in Port-Vila, Pekoa Airport in Espiritu Santo and Whitegrass Airport in Tanna. AVL has a significant role to play in the safety, security, and economic prosperity of Vanuatu and must meet and comply with international regulations and standards.
The Position
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and control of all aspects of the business of Vanuatu Terminal Services Limited (VTS). The GM is accountable for the profitable delivery of efficient and effective Freight handling services, Ground Handling Services, and all other services lines the company takes on over time.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Tertiary qualifications in Business or Aviation Management (or similar), or demonstrated experience in a relevant senior position
► Experience in managing Intentional Air Cargo, Aircraft Ground Handling, Corporate and Technical Aviation Services
► Well versed with the implementation of service standards and ensuring continuous compliance
► Has effective oral and written communication skills in Bislama and English and/or French or preferably both.
► Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Previous management experience in Vanuatu
► Interpersonal and People Management skills
► Results focused with strong attention to detail
► Decisive and self motivated
