The Organisation
The Roads for Development Transition Program is an Australian Aid funded program that assists the Vanuatu Government (GoV)'s Public Works Department (PWD) in planning and undertaking physical road and infrastructure works. Link Personnel Services manages this Program and provides the Technical Advisers to support the Program outcomes.
The Position
The Social Safeguards Technical Adviser (TA) will design awareness sessions with respect to the contents of the PWD’s Workplace Health and Safety / Traffic / Environmental Management Plans, that are to be implemented by the Small-Scale Contractors during the implementation of their works and train the contractor-nominated personnel in delivering them.
Essential Selection Criteria
► Previous experience with working in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and/or other developing countries. Working experience in Vanuatu would be an asset.
► Evidence of tertiary education and qualifications in relevant field
► Relevant work experience in analysing social safeguard requirements and implementing solutions.
► Previous experience in design and delivery of environmental and social safeguard training
► Clear Police Record and Health Check for Immigration purposes
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Language requirements: English (essential), Bislama (highly desirable) French (desirable)
► Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage and work with local communities and people of basic educational background
